Guerrila Marketing Idea

Southwest Airlines Marketing Idea Idea

Submitted 7 years ago

One of the worst things about airlines are the bathrooms. When you show up and have to wait an hour plus before getting on the plane, you end up eating crappy airline food and, when this happens, inevitably, you end up using the bathroom before getting on the plane. This is always a horrible experience no matter how fresh or clean the bathroom is. This is because of the lack of quality toilet paper.

I think that Southwest should join arms with P&G and put quality toilet paper in "random" stalls of some of your competitors terminals and, above the toilet paper roll, have a sign that reads something like "This toilet paper brought to you by Southwest Airlines and P&G...Always a Quality Experience" or something clever like that.

Perhaps, you should put quality toilet paper in your terminals with this sign first and gradually roll the concept out to other terminals (competitors) once it is established that Southwest uses quality toilet paper.

It may sound silly but this is definitely an overlooked annoyance within the airline business and a guerrilla marketing campaign like this would really resonate with your fan base and further establish your brand.

In addition, if you were to set up a partnership with P&G then this could be a very cheap way to draw attention and promote your airline.

I realize this idea may seem strange but so did the idea of flying...thanks Wright Brothers.
