Air Sanitizing

Southwest Airlines Other Idea

Submitted 4 years ago

Ultraviolet light has been used to sanitize rooms for some time, but only when they are empty because UV light will damage eyes. But recently it has been found that far UV light (252nm) is safe to humans and still kills microbes. If this technology were applicable to aircraft cabins either during cleaning (all wave) or during flights (far UV), it might get us in the air sooner and safer.
