Nudges For Recommendation Requests

LinkedIn New Service Idea

Submitted 3 years ago

Ever asked for a recommendation from a former manager and been verbally promised it will be done, then check for the next few weeks with radio silence?

Wouldn't it be nice if there was an anonymous nudge button that would politely remind managers that they have a recommendation that they have forgotten to write?

Of course, this idea may backfire since managers will learn to realise that these emails are coming from the individual - but maybe LinkedIn can also send those nudge emails without the need for the requester to ask for it.

Just some food for thought.
This would be a service similar to the "Send a hint" button on luxurious jewelry for your partner.

Let me know what you guys think about it - and maybe I'm the only one experiencing this aggravating issue where I don't want to come off as rude but at the same time really want that recommendation.
