Option To Enhance Posts With Higher Levels Of Importance

Facebook Product Improvement Idea

Submitted 4 years ago

I propose that Facebook implements a feature in this regards. For example, there could be 3 categories of posts.

1. Major life events (e.g. max 5 per year)
2. Important events (e.g. max 15 per year)
3. Normal posts

Then, with your friends, you could choose which types of posts you want to see from each (or groups) of them.

I have been on Facebook since its early years. However, I only check it about every 6 months, when I respond to messages and a few friend requests. I dont check it more often because the news feeds have little value for me, as it is mostly peoples ramblings (in my view). However, I would pay more attention if I could just set most people to view their important events and major life events, and possibly a select few to view their normal posts.

Then I wouldnt have to wade through so much irrelevant info to find anything of interest to me.

I know that there are many people like me. There are many who dont use Facebook at all, and others who use it very rarely like me. Often this is due to not finding info of value in their feeds. This type of feature would encourage people like us to spend more time on Facebook.
