Since the i30/Elantra GT is so popular and has it's own fan base, it should get a name all it's own in the states. The GT moniker is fitting as it could take a more prominent role as the GTi fighter its perceived to be in the line. Hatches have become the secondary go to vehicle if people want practicality and the sporty driving dynamics.
The next generation i30/Elantra GT should be more unique than the current model. Maybe it should take the role as a more premium model. The 1.6T could be the standard engine, moving the 2.0T to the N-line and then the 2.5T to full N with AWD. Also, they should make it the more grown-up variant, since there are those of us that want performance without all the noise. With the design team knocking out hit after hit, I can't wait to see what they do with this model.
