We live in MN. When it snows, one forgets to clean off the license plates. This would be a plus for those of us who have snow.

A heating element directly behind the license plates that melt/defrosts snow and ice keeping plates numbers,letters,and tabs clearly visible. It is the law in all 50 states to have a clearly visible license plate. The patent application was written by a 3M patent agent and patent attorney. It is literally first of it's kind!

This just makes sense. Cars have heated sideview mirrors and heated rear windshields to help you see, and save you time. Why not a heated plate to make you more visible and save you a ticket or two. It should be standard on commercial and fleet vehicles for sure. One less thing to worry about slowing down freight, keeping your service people from getting the next job, and fewer tickets.

This is a fantastic idea. I also agree with the person who posted a comment about the Amber alerts. I live in Minnesota and when elder people go missing and or our children it's essential that the police or anyone that is out looking for their loved ones to find them. If you have never been in this situation, you probably live in a warm climate. In Minnesota we need to be ever diligent in regards to keeping our license clean from the winter elements and also rural roads.

I think this is an amazing idea that I would really like to see happen. As someone who drives a lot in the winter/snow, this can really save me time and trouble. Yes its easy to wipe your license plate off before you leave your house, but as you drive the snow always piles back on the plate, covering it with snow again. This can help stop unnecessary stops by cops (because its illegal to have a covered plate) as well helps others see license plates if there was an Amber Alert.
Can't wait to see this come onto the market!
