Electronic Rake

Dyson New Product Idea

Submitted 8 years ago

I hope I am getting the idea across well enough to be understood by writing this message. I was raking my lawn the other day to freshen the yard up for spring time where I live. I was raking leaves from fall and many old grass strands from previous times of mowing the lawn. I love working on my yard, and don't mind the physical activity and the sweat that comes with it, but during the process of raking I was thinking that we have electronic devices to trim our lawns and vacuum our houses, but there is nothing electronic to rake our lawns. (I am a guy who invents things all the time, but due to the lack of money and knowledge to patent and make prototypes they are only ideas for the most part). I thought "well why can't a person make a device similar to a vacuum cleaner, but the bristles are metal contraptions similar to the end of a rake. Then I thought "it might dig into the ground too much", but then I was thinking "maybe if the metal "prongs" were to lightly touch the ground and bent enough to lift leaves, grass, and small debris and then have it sucked into the machine. It was a good idea, but I thought it needs to be more reliable. The leaves, grass, and debris can't just get all scattered on the ground again, and only a few things actually get sucked up. I then thought if there were metal prongs went between the metal prongs in motion that crossed each other the leaves, grass, and debris would follow the motionless prongs. Along with this happening and the great suction from inside the "Electronic Rake" the debris would all end up in the large bag (not much different than a bag attached to a lawn mower). The "Electronic Rake" could have a wide base to make more efficiency. Many landscaping companies would purchase this machine if it were a reality, plus many home owners and municipalities.
