Helping Senior Citizen And Disabled People Shop

Wegmans Customer Service Improvement Idea

Submitted 3 years ago

I am a caregiver and have many senior clients. Most still like to do their own grocery shopping. It gives them a reason to leave the house, and allows them have a sense of independence. Most of my seniors abhor the idea of motorized carts. They aren't fully disabled, and do not want to use them. What I have also found is they tire easily, and halfway thru the store the aches and pains start to set in. It would help so much if you could place a bench or two in the middle of the store. I see benches lining the front walls at the end of checkout lines. But offering them places to rest through the store would make a world of difference to them.
