Notify Options For Online Grocery Shopping Process

Walmart Service Improvement Idea

Submitted 6 years ago

Currently, customers have only one notification mechanism to notify them when their online order is ready for pickup. This mechanism is an email from Walmart when the order is complete. While email is ubiquitous, there are many disadvantages that call for improved notification options. Some customers will not have email on their mobile devices; some will but email will get stuck in a junk or spam filter. Even if a customer has email on his or her mobile device, there is no guarantee that they will see it. My recommendation is when an order is ready for pickup, the customer will be notified via: mobile application notification pop-up, text message, automated phone call, or email. I recommend that the customer be offered the choice of one or multiple notification options.
