Checkout As You Go Via Smartphone

Why don't you incorporate into your app a self checkout that allows you to scan products as you add then to your buggy. The only thing I see would be you'd still have to weigh certain fruits and veggies... but you could do that as you were at the bagging station. You could then either pay through mobile pay or have a barcode for your order appear on the phone that could be scanned at the register ringing up everything
at once. I think it could really speed things up.
