Passnger Seatbelt Sensor

United Airlines Customer Service Improvement Idea

Submitted 8 years ago

Maybe it would be great to have a sensor on the seatbelts for each passenger. The steward/stewardess would have a visual with the seating chart. If the passengers seatbelt was not buckled up, the sensor indicator light would show a red light, and the stewardess could address this with that customer. This would let the airline stewardess free to do more without having to walk up and down the isles of the aircraft to check everyone. This would make sure everyone is safely buckled in safely and would assist the airline to verify. Because as a passenger, I could have a magazine/book on my lap, and when the stewardess walked by, if the seatbelt is not hanging beside me, they would not be aware it was not buckled.
