Jeep "Trailhawk" Model Subaru

Subaru New Product Idea

Submitted 8 years ago

I own a 2010 Outback and a 2000 Land Rover Discovery II. I want to replace the LR with another SUV of similar off-road capabilities. The vehicle that most closely matches my criteria is the Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk. Its ground clearance, suspension, off-road drive train including locking rear differential, and multiple transmission settings for various terrains are not available together on any other similar size car in its price range. I love my Outback, but it is more highway-oriented than the Jeep. If a model offering the features and off-road performance of the Trailhawk were available, it would be my choice. I live in the Columbia River Gorge, where it seems about 20-30% of the cars are Subarus. We have hundreds of miles of national and state forest roads that access public lands for hiking, camping, fishing, mountain biking, and XC skiing. I'm sure that many present Outback owners would jump at the chance to drive an off-road
model. Perhaps it could be based on the design and technology of the WRX STI? A four door STI - now doesn't that sound exciting? Just a thought.
