Over the years Readers Digest has issued several terrific and successful sets of Glenn Miller records and CDs. Generally these previously issued products were comprised of Glenn Miller studio recordings and previously issued broadcast tunes. Presently Sony (who controls the Miller material) has hundreds of previous unissued Glenn Miller Chesterfield Radio Programs in their vaults. The majority of these 15 minute shows have never been released. They contain many tunes never recorded by the Miller band and they are in pristine shape. The Chesterfield shows were broadcast every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evening for 15 minutes covering the years 1940, 1941 and 1942. A set of selected shows covering the years would be a fantastic item especially for Glenn Miller fans. The programs in their entirety and in chronological sequence would showcase the band's development and picks up the patriotic sense of the times as the shows enter 1942. Therefore I suggest that a set of CDs of complete shows be a new Readers Digest product. The personnel, dates and all pertinent information is available, plus liner notes could easily be written by a qualified Miller expert. Again, this product would be a perfect Readers Digest offering.
