Hi, I'm Rubison Joseph and I'm also an employee at Panera Bread (Mostly prep). I will like to tell you about how it is in my deepest concern that the way we prepare our food is ecologically affecting us. I prep a few ingredients and while I prep onions in particular, we get it in a perfect round shape and while we do that, we are also wasting a lot of onions just because it is not the right/standard shape and it breaks my heart to throw them away. We are wasting about 1/3 of an onion at the lowest (2.0 Oz/onion). I understand that we keep up with a certain aesthetic to make our food look more appetizing but this is not only creating more wastage but also might be affecting the company financially. I hope we will take the initiative to change this aspect of it making our food more delicious to eat and appetizing to look at while keeping the environment and company's growth(finance) in mind. I will be happy to suggest some ideas that I have in mind. Thank you.
