Moving Microscope Or Zero-Gravity On-Orbit Microscope

Olympus New Product Idea

Submitted 7 years ago

The Zero-gravity On-Orbit Microscope is a compact, portable, high resolution microscope. The microscope system is battery operated, and includes a computer and a camera. Traditional microscopes are typically stationary, and are placed on a stable platform. The inventive concept here is the use of the compact microscope in applications that require movement of the sample. This small research grade microscope is sealed in a hermetic enclosure, which is another novel concept and can be used in satellites that move at nearly 15,000 miles per hour. Another application is as a clinostat microscope wherein the clinostat rotates between 0 to 100 rpm.
