Alternative To The Two Hour Automatic Shut Off

I understand the reason for the automatic shut off, but why not make the two hour shut off a default. Some coffee drinkers may want their coffee to stay warm for four, six, etc hours. If there is a setting to adjust the time for a longer period, that would give additional options.
