A One Stroke Rotary Engine.

Mitsubishi Other Idea

Submitted 7 years ago

Australian patent 2012201473 and US patent 9175562 for this one stroke rotary engine with power stroke up to 90% and 2 strokes per revolution of the rotor. Runs on compressed fuel and compressed air injected into temporary combustion chambers, chambers partitioned by sets of doors pushed by inward and outward cam lobes only when chamber explosive pressure is dumped to exhaust so doors have no side pressure while they are moved. doors stationary and blocking chamber up to 90% of the time. The engine can self start using compressed air. Suitable for construction as normal with cast iron or suitable to be made of ceramic materials to operate at higher temperatures for higher efficiency. Very uncomplicated engine to construct. High torque engine over its rev range. Not restricted by pre-ignition problems because pistons on the rotor are move in the circular chamber linearly, not cyclic. A low friction engine!
