Idea For Washing Machines

Dear Sir, I am a very short person who loves Maytag washing machines. Like others who are less than 5 feet tall, it is difficult to reach into the drum to extract clothing. My idea is to install a step on the bottom of the machine that will come out by pressing a button after the clothes are finished...then a short person can easily step up to get the clothes.
If this is not doable maybe raising the drum a few inches after washing would work. That would facilitate removing the clothes without much difficulty.
Either way, short people would be happy. Thank you.
