Find A Connection - Tradeshow

I have an idea I think would be a fantastic added service for LinkedIn.

As we all know, LinkedIn is a great tool for creating and maintaining business relationships digitally, particularly across distances. I have many connections that I have never met in person. What I have found is that many of my connections attend the same events and tradeshows that I do but often times I am unaware they are there. If we could have an easy way to see who is attending a given show/event that we will be attending, and provide an opportunity to meet, this could be a very powerful app evolve our LinkedIn connections.

LinkedIn could create a service whereby you register your attendance at an event or tradeshow. LinkedIn would then create a link to that event where you could see which of your 1st level connections will also be in attendance. This would provide is the opportunity to meet up with that person or to invite them to a function, or to our booth.

It is scary how often I find out someone I wanted to meet was at a show, but only after the event is over. This service app is exactly what LinkedIn is at its core; helping to develop relationships, but this is taking it out of cyberspace and into the real world. I would probably use this app more than any other on the LinkedIn site.
