Problem Getting In And Out
Lexus Product Improvement IdeaSubmitted 2 years ago
I drive a 2019 RC350, F series. I love the car for all of its features, for the way it looks and the way it drives. It has one of the few Infrared paint jobs you will see. Here's my problem, and a possible solution.
I'm about 5' 7", medium build. I like to sit fairly high, and because I'm 5'7" the seat is set fairly forward. Exiting the car I have to scrunch down to avoid hitting the roof line with my head. Getting in, I have to bend my knees and put my right leg in first and then slide in to avoid hitting my head. Besides the discomfort, my leather belt has worn a hole in the left upright edge of the seat. Here's what I've done to help solve the problem. Using the seat positioning, I've set "1" as my perfect driving position and "3" at the same horizontal position but the lowest vertical. Exiting the car I press 3. Later, after getting back into my seat, I press 1. That saves me from hitting my head or bending my neck uncomfortably when getting in or out. Oftentimes, I forget my little procedure. I think it would be very helpful if there was an automatic positioning option; open the driver's door to exit and the seat lowers. Open the door from the outside (no weight on the seat) and the seat automatically lowers to position 3. Put weight on it and the seat raises to position 1. (For safety reasons, you might want to put a button on the console to start the repositioning to position 1.)
