Quick Windshield Release System TM

Kia Product Improvement Idea

Submitted 1 year ago

Four years ago, I developed a safer, faster way to remove a windshield. This industry has been unchanged since the windshield was created, removing windshields from the interior of the car. I have developed a patent to revolutionize the auto glass industry by removing the windshield from the outside of the car. Not only is this patented process faster and safer, it is also more cost effective.

When a windshield is broken or damaged and needs to be removed and replaced, the task of cutting through the adhesive bead is difficult and time-consuming. The time element is crucial when injured passengers are trapped inside the vehicle and rapid windshield removal is the only way to reach them. In such emergencies, it is necessary to remove the windshield from outside the vehicle when damaged doors are inoperable. Even in non-emergency circumstances, windshield removal from the vehicle interior is difficult and awkward. The need to protect dashboards, pillars and headliners from damaging contact with cutting tools is crucial.

This is an opportunity to license this technology and dominate the windshield marketplace.

•The Quick Release Windshield System simply installs a cutting wire or cord around the interior pinch weld of the vehicle, leaving two pigtails crossed at bottom of pinch weld.
•After that, a urethane adhesive is run around perimeter of the cord or wire and the vehicle windshield is set in place.
•When a windshield needs to be replaced, simply remove cowling of vehicle and attach handles or auto glass removal tool to pigtail ends.
•Pull the cords in opposite directions cutting through urethane bead, and simply remove windshield.
Removal takes less than one minute without risk of damage to the vehicle

Important points regarding the Quick Release Windshield System:
-Windshields are the #1 Insurance claim worldwide is auto glass, costing insurance companies hundreds of millions of dollars in repair claims each year
-In the United States alone, 14 million windshields are replaced each year @ $25.00 per kit. That could add up to $350 million per year
-Apply a vehicle safety feature for less than $1 per unit.
-All work is done from the exterior of the car, reducing damage claims to interior of vehicle.
-By working with us, you can be a leader in this space and you can own the OEM kit market, license to other manufacturers and even license this to other equipment manufacturers such as aviation, train, and excavation equipment.

Please contact me to discuss this new technology that will help Ford to continue to be at the forefront of innovation.
