Sustainability Through IKEA - The War On Waste Taken Seriously
Ikea Other IdeaSubmitted 5 years ago
I would like to see a section in IKEA, a Market Place, sellling loose, unpackaged products straight into IKEA containers. For instance if IKEA could develop laundry containers and people bring their containers and refill these with washing powder and softening liquid, dishwashing liquid. Or cereal containers and at this market place people could refill the containers with different kinds of mueslis, corn flakes, dry cereals from around the world. You pay per weight.
Other ideas: soup mixes, dry beans, lentils; loose leaf teas; chocolates and sweets; dog food; oil, vinegar, soy sauce; different types of rice from all over the world; different types of pasta.
A special trolly could hold your containers that needs filling.
The Market Place needs to be easily accessible from the parking area.
A variety of containers -BPA free/glass - should be on sale in the area.
An adviser should be on hand advising customers on the best use of space and containers.
The quality of products sold should be of a high standard.
Hygiene should be paramount. Biodegradable gloves should be worn by everyone, tools used at all times.
Traditional food like rice, pulses, etc can be displayed in hessian bags?
