Soundproofing Options For Existing Ikea Products
Ikea Product Improvement IdeaSubmitted 8 years ago
Obviously, many people who rely on Ikea are on very limited budgets and/or live in cheaply built apartment blocks or otherwise in very close quarters with other people. So I've been thinking about ideas for things to adapt existing Ikea products, to help with soundproofing... eg, Kallax inserts with sound absorbing panels on the back and front of them, rubberised feet/matting to fix to the legs/bottoms of furniture... and sheets of soundproofing material to fix to the backs of furniture, in custom widths and lengths for particular items such as sideboards, all the different sizes and configurations of Kallax units, the Billy bookcase, etc. Around-bed curtain rails (such as you see in hospitals) for acoustic curtain, also with a canopy of the same material draped right across the top of the rail. The curtain rail could be expandable to adapt to different bed sizes, maybe?!
