Swap Keyboard And Touchpad On Laptops

Hewlett-Packard Product Improvement Idea

Submitted 21 days ago

The standard laptop has its touchpad nearer to the hands than the keyboard is to the hands. For office workers, generally the keyboard is used a lot more often than the touchpad (or often, a mouse is connected) so how about shifting the keyboard to the edge of the laptop that is closest to the hands? Ergonomically, there is the least strain on the muscles when the keyboard is as close to the body as possible. If we still want the touchpad to be very close to the hands, I wonder if a "pull out" touchpad is possible.

Fyi, my email address is: [email protected].
Would love to hear your thoughts!
