GameSwap, For A Nominal Fee, Convert My Disc To Digital.

GameStop New Service Idea

Submitted 7 years ago

Imagine this scenario.
I got a new Xbox One. I bought NBA 2K16 for 10 bucks used (GameStop). I also bought FH3 new at Target (black Friday half-off). Guess my problem.
Both games are on disc. My Xbox One only has one disc drive. If I want to play the other game, I have to go swap discs (first world problems).
What is my solution? Buy on XBL. Pro, I don't have to swap discs, nor do I risk losing the game. Con, it's 2 sometimes 3x more expensive to buy on XBL.

GameStop could offer me a better solution, buy the disc, then trade it for a digital code in-store. Why the heck would they do that? A small service fee is paid to GameStop and they get a basically free used (in the case of FH3, brand new) game for them to re-sell time and again. Ka-ching!!

Plus, I no longer have to get out of my super-compfy recliner to swap discs.
