Clean / Disenfect Shopping Baskets

As a New Yorker who is busy, I often buy fresh fruit, sandwiches and prepared foods. When I place the items into the basket I notice how dirty they are especially in the interior. The last basket had melted ice cream, layers of dirt and hair. It is unsanitary and unsightly to put packaged salad and food items.
