Powered Crowbar

Dewalt New Product Idea

Submitted 4 years ago

The Powered Crowbar is an electric crowbar designed to vibrate, allowing for the easy removal of framing and flooring joints using high-frequency vibrations. The tool is intended to save extensive time and effort for demolition crews, carpenters, contractors, and more.

Powered Crowbar is a motorized tool which, while vibrating, enables the easy removal of nailed lumber from a floor, frame, and numerous other locations. The tool is comprised of a crowbar with a vibrating motor attached to a rheostat, a power switch, and a rechargeable battery. The vibrating motor is contained within a housing located on the fulcrum of the crowbar. The handle features an ergonomic grip with non-conductive, vibration-absorbent material.

The wires for the motor are housed in a sleek conduit. A strain gauge could also be installed to enable automatic motor output from the control module. A flexible shaft could be installed along the body of the crowbar if the motor is placed on the handle side an an unbalanced shaft is installed in close proximity to the chisel end. The motor or shaft would be installed to optimize the effectiveness of the vibrations for easy material removal.

Users can activate the crowbar and adjust the vibration frequency via the rheostat. The speed control allows the vibrations to be adjusted in order to remove specific types of nailed lumber, enabling users to obtain different amounts of leverages as needed. The ergonomic handle allows individuals to use the device for an extended period of time due to absorbing uncomfortable vibrations as the crowbar is being used. The vibrations remove the wood materials with ease.

Powered Crowbar can be constructed using steel and other suitable materials. The device may be available in various sizes for numerous applications. The rechargeable battery can be powered as needed in order to enable continuous use of the crowbar without needing a replacement and without needing to keep the crowbar plugged in during use. Exact size, measurement, construction, and design specifications may vary upon manufacturing.
