I noticed recently that when you order through the app, there is a convenience fee. My understanding of using a company's app would to make your experience more convenient. Why would we charge the customers for this?
My suggestion would be to remove the convenience fee from the app usage. If someone does, however, come into a location to order items to go, this is where the inconvenience comes in. The customer does not have the option to sit and enjoy their experience at your restaurant, it's more of an inconvenience to come down, pick up food and then go home again. Introduced the idea of a two dollar inconvenience discount.
This way, the customer is guaranteed to feel as if they are valuable to your company. Reward the customer for doing business with you instead of penalizing them for using an app that supposedly created to make their experience more convenient.
