Movie Patent

Dear Sir,

I am an electronic engineer and have filed a patent disclosing a novel way of protecting visual content.

Movie piracy is a growing concern (as I am sure you are aware). In the patent I disclose a simple method of protecting visual content, from being copied via a digital camera or similar. For example, a person may unlawfully copy a movie (form the screen) in a Cinema or even from the projector room. The patent discloses a method of preventing such events, while not interfering with the experience of other members of the audience. The patent further discloses a method of tracing back any unlawful copies to its origin where and when it was copied for prosecution or preventing re-occurrence.

The patent includes measures to detect and prevent tampering with the system. In my humble opinion the technology could easily be integrated in your projector systems or as a stand alone system in a cinema. This may encourage the release of Premier Movie releases in move theaters and cinemas employing your equipment.

The patent has many uses including a new way of advertising a product or service in a new inventive way.

The patent is still a Provisional Patent and therefore improvements and customization aspects may still be made, as allowed by the patent law. The patent was filed at the SA Patent Office. South Africa is a member to the Paris Convention and therefore a PCT may be filed, and the technology may be patented any where in the world including the USA (based upon the provisional patent).
