The Galaxy Spider

Bass Pro Shops New Product Idea

Submitted 8 years ago

The Galaxy Spider is designed to make it easier to relax in a chair while fishing or hunting, with everything that may be needed within easy reach, without having to get up from the chair. The arm attaches to the round post/pedestal supporting the seat
of the chair, and can rotate up to 360 degrees around the chair. The position of the arm is adjustable, and it can be moved closer in or further out, left or right, up and down, depending on a person's preference or need for convenience. The product is designed so several arms can be added to the same pedestal, as long as there is sufficient room on the post supporting the seat. A locking holder is installed to support the arm on the pedestal, with gears to lock the position of the arm. To install an arm, the seat must be removed (if unable to remove the seat an adapter can be used)and the gear ring, facing up, slides over the end of the post when adding an arm. The diameter of the gear ring can be adjusted and tightened to fit securely to a posts measuring between two and five inches. The gear rings
provide a way to lock the position of the arm when the user does not want the arms to rotate freely around the chair. The arms are attached to separate holders which can be added and tightened to the pedestal. When adding more than one arm, a second gear ring can be added at the top of the stack on the pedestal, facing downward. When wanting to lock the positions of multiple arms, a separate gear ring can be added to control the movement of each additional arm. The arms can swivel independently, while the arms next to the gear rings can be locked in specific positions. The arms are attached to the post with rings, and an Allen wrench is used to detach the arm from its ring, so it can be left on the chair once it has been installed. Latches allow the angle of the arm and its length to be adjusted, depending on the needs of the user.
