Steering Authentication System

BMW New Product Idea

Submitted 1 year ago

The idea behind this is that only person that drives your car... is the owner.
Detail:
With hijacking being such a massive problem world wide, the idea is that no one else will be able to drive someone els's car except for the people who are supposed to. A FINGERPRINT-HAND PRINT RECONGNITION SYSTEM that scans the drives prints before they drive. Although Hyndai is the first car to use biometrics, it falls short because it can only open and start cars. This is way better because people are concerned with their safety more so than opening and starting their cars with fingerprints. Besides, someone can easily cut off your finger and still steal your car.
This idea - a drivers hand print is scanned and activated from the time they start they car until they switch the car off. if that drivers hands are not identified on the steering wheel of his or her car, the car will not start or go anywhere. That way, if someone wants to steal your car, they cannot drive the car themselves unless they cut both your hands off and drive using them which won't work in any case. You would need to drive them around or wherever which will give you enough time to press a mini alert button which would be situated very close to the steering wheel which would send out an emergency alert to the nearest police station or a family member notifying them of your situation and your location. This can be done using a phone app perhaps. The idea needs some fine tuning but this is the jist of it. It can perhaps revolutionize driver safety and hijacking prevention. Besides who willl try and hijack a car they no they won't be able to drive?...probably an idiot.
