My name is Angel Valero, COO at NanoMyP (www.nanomyp.com), a Biotech company with strong expertise in the development of nanostructured membranes. We would like to introduce our new product Tiss-Active, a breakthrough material (non-resorbable nanostructured membrane) protected by a recent patent application to be mainly used in Guided Bone Regeneration (GBR) for treating Periodontal Disease.
This new material shows, among many others, the following features:
- Fully osseointegration, avoiding the need for a second surgery
- Fast bone regeneration (few weeks) through enhancing the precipitation of natural minerals and the activation of bone-forming cells. No need for filling with bone precursors or grafts.
- Reducing the proliferation of periodontal bacteria.
Major expected advantages of Tiss-Active versus the main competitor in GBR (PFTE non-resorbable membranes) are activation of bone-forming cells and fully bone integration. Moreover, the enhanced osteogenesis and also bioactivity showed by Tiss-Active open a promising door to other applications which can be successfully addressed with this membrane (e.g. reconstruction of large bone defects or new coatings for metal implants).
