Client Schedule (New App Feature)
Uber Product Improvement IdeaSubmitted 7 years ago
Client schedule would mainly focus on allowing Uber drivers to organize their day, while also providing the opportunity for riders to request specific pick-up times and locations. The "Create a client schedule" tab would allow drivers to create a 4 hour block each day where they receive scheduled rider requests based on location and travel time. The 4 hour limit ensures that drivers split time between receiving random request and having an organized schedule."Create a client schedule" will need to be created at least 1 full hour before the first pick-up and pick-ups will be in 15 minute intervals.
Example: Driver:Todd R Current time: 7:42 a.m. Current location: Silver spring (A)
Create a client schedule:
8:45 a.m.: silver spring (A) requested Destination: D.C. (A) ETA:30 MINS(9:15)
9:30 a.m.: D.C. (A) requested Destination: D.C. (B) ETA:15 MINS(9:45)
10:00 a.m.: D.C. (B) requested Destination: MARYLAND (B) ETA:45 MINS(10:45)
11:00 a.m.: Maryland (B) requested Destination: Virginia (C) ETA:1 HOUR(12:00)
12:15 a.m.: Virginia (C) requested Destination: D.C. (C) ETA:30 MINS(12:45)
SCHEDULE CLOSED
Drivers will receive requests as normal, but specific details will come in for time requests. Riders and drivers will receive notifications 10 minutes before scheduled times. If driver fails to respond or show to a scheduled request, drivers "client schedule" will be disabled for the remainder of the day. Riders scheduled pick-up will automatically default to a normal request to ensure a driver shows at the appropriate time. If rider cancels, they will automatically be charged a 5$ cancellation fee. ETA's will automatically round to nearest 15 minute interval. For example, driver has an 8 minute ride from point (A) to (B) at 9:30, ETA will be 9:45 to allow ample time for next pick up time.
