Text Message Pop-up Options

While the text pop up window is very convientnt, however I just have some 2 user suggestions that I can imagine would be appreciated by all. 1 - The character limit is often too restrictive, especially for a emoticon users. 2 - if the last message that's received is the conclusion of a conversation (doesn't require a reply) then a "mark as read" button would be much more efficient so there's no need to open the messaging app to remove the 'unread message' indicator that appears with the application icon.
