Similar to the smart guns used in Judge Dread I often thing of a bracelet with an ID frequency that will unlock the phone when held in the hand.
When moved away from the device the phone locks.
3 failed frequencies would disable the frequency function until reconfigured by the owner.
This would address snatched phones from user's hands rendering the phone unusable.
The connection could be through the phones own software/hardware or through 3rd party hardware similar to a USB plugin.
