Metrocard Electronic Refill

My idea is that instead of having to always visit a train station or store to buy and refill a metrocard, you can instead refill it in the comfort of your home or whenever you happen to be.

Maybe if the mta can add a bar scan micro size to the card, or a number on the back, and you can either scan it with your phone or add the number into an app that refills the card and holds your debit/credit info.
