A few things I missed/messed up:

By "Virtual Desktop" I meant a simple remote desktop that copies your PC screen.
The gamepad suggestion was for the standalone use of the Gear since PCs worth with any gamepad already. I would also suggest investing into development of some kind of a glove controller since gestures and separate finger movements used for controls open limitless possibilities for VR aside from the obvious "grabbing stuff with your actual hands" (e.g. using prop weapons/firearms/unplugged controllers for games based on the finger/hand motions alone)

Speaking of standalone use - GearVR would be awesome for watching 3D movies if its audio support wasn't so pathetic and supported the most commonly used AC3 and DTS codecs, since as it stands 9 out of 10 movies are either silent or there's obnoxious static instead of audio tracks.

I noticed the max brightness of the screen is dimmed down significantly in VR so you might wanna raise that a bit for better color contrast.

And finally, the software could REALLY use an OFF button or simply the ability to go to your phones main screen in VR to use GearVR with other software (like the upcoming Google software)
