McDonalds Customer Service Improvement Idea

I worked for a franchise from 1983 thru 1992. Started as the hostess worked my way to swing manager. Our stores took pride in servicing our customers. When they walked they were greated with a Hello,may I help you? Now you stand at the counter waiting for the crew to stop talking with a fellow employee or just not paying attention to their customers. Lobbies are not always cleaned, not an inviting visit for customers.
What I'm suggesting is a "Secret Shopper" program. We had them , never knew who or when they may visit.
So many times when I go to a McDonald's I wonder what happened to customer service.
We had a saying in our stores " you got time to leen,you got time to clean". It needs to be implemented in a lot of stores....
