Plug In Wave/tidal Turbines

There are lots of lovely wind turbines situated in our seas, so embellish them by creating a skirt of turbines capturing wave and tidal power.
The infrastructure is already in place to transport the electricity generated from the base of the wind turbine onto the shore, all that is needed is to plug the water turbines into same system. Quicker and cheaper than creating a separate field of wave/tidal turbines.
(Incidentally, why are there no fields of wave/tidal turbines being used already? The wind may not always blow, but tides are ever present.)
