A small hand held fan, a smaller version of the dyson hair-dryer.
As most women moving into menopause find the need to cool themselves when having a hot flush, even in the middle of winter.
As a husband who purchased a small handheld battery operated & rechargeable. I can tell you it is loud, in the middle of the night while my wife uses the fan, it generally wakes me up as well.
