Moisture Extracting Food Bin

Now we recycle food separately its clear bacteria love the moist contents of the food bins available and it smells very bad very quickly.
A food bin with a drain into a smell free sump combined with the ability to squeeze any moisture from the food would help. This could be achieved with a manual plunger and a fine sieve. The dryish contents can then be emptied into a compostable bag and the waste water down the sink.
No doubt someone will add some form of disinfectant to the sump - though this wouldn't be very eco.
