Pacifica Off-Road

Chrysler New Product Idea

Submitted 2 years ago

Innovative automotive companies are now offering a new trim-line featuring moderate off-road-ready equipment. Subaru now offers the Wilderness package, and Ford just launched the Timberline package for its Explorer and Expedition. This mini-segment has enormous potential to the "overlander" class of customers, and Stellantis should not ignore the appeal of a similarly equipped Chrysler AWD Pacifica. Features would include added ground clearance, undercarriage protection, strategically placed body cladding and all-terrain tires. The segment does not compete with serious off-road vehicles (e.g., the Wrangler, Bronco, and Forerunner), but instead would fill a void for buyers who seek measurably more adventure capability in their vehicles. As an avid fan of Chrysler minivans, I believe the AWD Pacifica, already among the most utilitarian of vehicles, would become the unrivaled leader in this new and burgeoning segment.
