Interior Door Upholstery Protection

I don't care if it's a compact or a luxury car...when you exit the vehicle, you inadvertently scrape your shoes along the front bottom of the driver's door, and it leaves a scuff mark that can't be removed. How about reinforcing this part of the door with a material that won't show scuff marks, or can be cleaned ???
