Highly Efficient, Two-stroke Internal Combustion Hydraulic Engin

Chrysler New Product Idea

Submitted 6 years ago

DESCRIPTION OF INVENTION:
The invention consists of an engine in which the combustion unit and the torque unit are in the same casing.

It uses hydraulic oil to produce torque instead using a crankshaft and connecting rods.

The combustion unit in the Escoto engine can use a premix fuel/air mixture, or fuel and air can be injected separately.

It has a minimum of two cylinders to operate.

It can work with even or uneven number of cylinders, all of them must be aligned in straight-up position.

The engine is commonly named the Escoto Engine.

The engine can be adapted to use gasoline, biodiesel, diesel, ethanol, natural gas, LPG, propane etc. practically any carburant.

The engine can use cams or solenoids or a combination.

Below the main novel elements are included in the most updated embodiment, they will be as follows:

1.- The element (1A) consist in a combustion chamber with poppet valves actuated by solenoids, the air or fuel, or the air/fuel mixture can be injected to the combustion chamber using compressed air from a low pressure common rail 2.

2.- The element (2A) is a free non-engaged piston running only in the circular section of the cylinder.

3.- The element (3A) is a cylinder which have two section: the circular section 7 and the square section 8.
The combustion chamber is on the top. In the rear of the square section 8 there is a gate, and below there is a square hole through which the oil moves to the high-pressure chamber element (5A).

4.- The element (4A) is a hydraulic metal window-blinds type of check-out valve. Its functions are: to strongly seal the square hole whenever needed, and to allow an unobstructed passage of hydraulic oil to the high-pressure chamber (5A) at each combustion stroke.

5.- The high-pressure common chamber element (5A) is immediate located below the cylinders and the check-out valve (4A). This chamber is open to all the cylinders in the engine and its function is to press the vanes 16 of the element (6A) and produce torque.

6.- The torque device element (6A) consist of a drum with vanes 16 radially inserted, this unit produce torque due to the oil at a high-pressure coming from the cylinders.

7.- The low-pressure common chamber element (8A) receive the hydraulic oil from the torque mechanism (6A), this chamber is open to all cylinders in the engine.

8.- The check-in valve element (8A) is located at the gate on the rear face of the square section of the cylinder element (3A). It allows oil inside the cylinder to push up the piston to TDC position.

9.- The mechanism which open and close the check-out valve element (4A) has a longitudinal flexible mental pin, this will make the engine run smooth and softly.

10.- The last element is located between the low-pressure chamber and the high-pressure chamber and it is a check-out valve element (10A) located inside the metal block of the engine. It allows whenever needed oil going from the low to the high-pressure chambers.

The use of the above elements will produce a pressure-rotation dotted graph as shown below:

In the Escoto Engine as the pressures are lower the temperatures are lower and the dissipation of heat in the air is lesser. The result will be an engine which converts the chemical energy in the fuel more efficiently into mechanical work.

Due that the pressures are lower, the casing or block of the motor can be built with aluminum, the engine may not even need a fan.

As the engine uses: a special two stroke cycle, and do not use the scavenging process, then, the number of rpm are lower than the typical engine this fact will allow the invented engine be more suitable for the use of electromagnetic solenoids.

To function the engine must use the following two additional auxiliary units:
One: small air compressor.
One: small vacuum.

The use of the units above indicated in addition to the use of solenoids will increase the efficiency to at least 40-50% against the typical engine. Aside, the invented engine will provide a flexibility and adaptability that the regular engines cannot give.

Below is a Figure showing a front cross-section details of the engine:

ADVANTAGES
a).- An environmentally friendly engine, with an efficiency of 40 to
50% more than the typical engine.
b).- An engine simple, boxy and compact.
c).- A highly efficient engine which produce torque on
demand.
d).- A smooth and noiseless engine.
e).- An engine which is adaptable and versatile.
f).- An engine which can be use anywhere and everywhere.
g).- As it does not have a flywheel, it does not need to
work continuously.
h).- A six cylinder engine can use only two to go around
depending on the load demand. Or, it can use three, four
or five, or all of them.
i).- The engine can be computer programmed:
-to work all weekend on a very low load, and
keep worm/fresh the trucks cabin.
-to quickly start working when there is a demand.
-to work with an even or uneven number of cylinders
(2 cylinders minimum).
J).- The engine can be manufactured using aluminum or
any other well machinability light alloy.
k).- The engine may not need fan for cooling purposes.
l).- As the cylinders are straight-up there will be no
oil leaking into the combustion chambers.
m).- As the internal mechanism is inundated in oil
maintenance will be rare. Noise will be muted.
n).- Can be manufactured to use any type of fuel.
o).- The engine is designed to optimize to the maximum extent
possible each combustion stroke.
p).- With this new technology more positive and
unexpected result can be obtained.

In case more details are needed, they can be immediately provided.
