Driver Safety

Chrysler Product Improvement Idea

Submitted 4 years ago

EVEWS
(Emergency Vehicle Early Warning System)

Emergency Vehicles:
When lights/siren are activated a transmitter chip sends a signal thru an antenna
to vehicles,(cars, buses, trucks, ect.), within a several block radius.

Vehicles:
Receiver chips in the vehicle computers will receive the signal, thru vehicle antennas, and respond with a verbal warning: ("Beware There is an Emergency vehicle in the Area", "Beware There is an Emergency Vehicle in the Area"), or something to that effect.
If the radio is ON, the volume will drop and the warning will sound over the vehicles speakers, if the radio is OFF, the warning will still sound over the vehicles speakers.
This will get the drivers to be on the lookout for Emergency Vehicles.
Chips are cheap, today's cars can Drive, Brake, Park, themselves. Maybe this
will be an easy fix to an ongoing problem for First Responders.
