Cost-effective New Safety Idea
Chrysler Product Improvement IdeaSubmitted 115 days ago
Dear Gary Davis, The following request has been registered for you: Request #1461587 Highway crashes Subject: Highway crashes To: [email protected] Hi. As you know, the distance on a highway for a vehicle, going highway speeds, to come to a full stop can be sizable. Therefore, the car behind that vehicle needs to know that the car up ahead is stopped ASAP. A driver involved in a highway crash may not think right away that its a good time to turn on his or her flashers to warn the drivers in back of that vehicle. Dont airbags have a built-in accelerometer? Would it be that more expensive to make cars whose flashers come on in real time when a vehicle brakes too quickly? Wouldnt this be about the most bang for the buck in a new safety improvement, and one that might reduce the chance of multi-car pileups? Have a great day, NHTSA Service Desk (I have submitted this idea to other automobile manufacturers just now. This is a gift. I have no copyright, trademark, or patent on it. Neither have I checked into whether or not anyone else already has. Thanks! - Gary
