What you could do is create call of duty set in the future... After a few missions in you have to figure out who's side your on... So you travel back in time in your ancestors bodies and fight. American Revolutionary War, both World Wars, Vietnam, current wars, then on to future wars... It does resemble Assassins Creed in a way. But in the end you find out there is a little bit of a good side in each your allies and enemies, so you have to pick which side you're on... After that you create two spin off versions from that point and fight/ finish the war on that side.
