They explored this route heavily with COD WW2, and I believe they should continue to create more similar campaigns. A campaign that is memorable for the plot, the cinematic shots, captivating music (not just for a theme song's sake, but to complement the flow of the story), and characters who are humanized, not robotic purposeless slaves of their commanders. As a Christopher Nolan fan who also happens to utilize military characters a lot in his stories, I believe his movies are a good inspiration point. The Modern Warfare trilogy and the first 2 Black Ops series are remembered not for their unique and brilliant multiplayer modes but for the characters that perfectly fall into a fantastic storyline.
